About Diane Mitchell

Diane became a realtor in 1997. She moved to downtown Portland in 1996 and was fascinated by the urban growth in the center of the city. She watched as the first condos in the Pearl District were constructed and she has since sold condos and lofts in over 30 different condominium associations. She lived at the Portland Plaza on 5th Avenue, built in 1973 for ten years and at Riverplace Condominiums for 6 years. At the office everyone calls her the condo queen so she decided this year to adopt that name in her marketing program.

Diane has a BA in sociology from the University of California at Riverside and a Masters Degree from Stockholm University in Sweden. She completed her doctoral studies minus the dissertation and worked as a research assistant in Stockholm, Sweden for 15 years. As a realtor she likes to understand the numbers and the lifestyles of people in the many diverse neighborhoods of Portland. To add to her real estate skills she has extensive experience remodeling both a house from top to bottom and two condominiums.

Meeting new people and making new friends is a passion and gives meaning to her most exciting job. She is a huge jazz fan and is the widow of an internationally reknown American bassist, Red Mitchell. Working to promote his legacy is a lifelong task.
